How it works

Three steps from a list of places to a route you can drive.

  1. Select or open

    Highlight place names and right-click, click the icon, or open a Google Maps directions page.

  2. Set your limits

    Car, foot or bike, trip length, daily driving hours, electric car range, avoid tolls.

  3. Get your route

    RoutePlanner.ai opens in a new tab with your route, overnight stops, and hotels and tours near the way.

It only reads what you choose

  • It reads a page only when you click it, or when you right-click selected text.
  • It reads the text you selected, the numbered headings of a list article, the page title, or the stops in a Google Maps address.
  • It stores nothing, has no account and no tracking. It never reads other tabs, forms, passwords or your browsing history.
  • Nothing is sent until you press the button. Then routeplanner.ai opens in a new tab with your request.

Is it free?

Yes. The extension is free to install. You need a free routeplanner.ai sign-in to get a route, the same as on the website, and some usage is free.

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera on a computer. It is not available for Firefox, Safari or phones.

Does it change links on other websites?

No. It never changes, replaces or adds links on other sites.

Can it split my Google Maps route into days?

Yes. Open a Google Maps directions page, click the icon, and choose "Split my Google Maps route into days". Your stops keep their order and you get overnight stops.
